The designation as the 1st “Bergsteigerdorf” (Mountaineering Village) in Germany represents centuries-old interaction with the unique mountain landscape and defines goals for future generations. The environment and nature, as well as the closely related rural cultural landscape, are in the foreground, as they are the largest and most important treasures that are inherent to the region. The municipality is partially located within, or bordering directly on the National Park Berchtesgaden, the only alpine national park in Germany. The scenic beauties of the Ramsau valley and the diversity of flora and fauna can be discovered on walks, hikes, and alpine mountain tours. A holiday in Ramsau combines landscape, nature, culture, and relaxation in the valley and on the mountain in an impressive way! The walk through the Bergsteigerdorf Ramsau is a welcome trail where the first impressions of Ramsau can be gathered. Hiking stages 1 - 10 include pathways in the valley as connection routes to the starting points of further tours as well as independent walks and hikes that can be combined with each other. The remaining routes are organized according to hiking areas.
