From the bus stop Hintersee/Zauberwald or Carpark Seeklause, you can hike around the lake in both directions. The idyllically located mountain lake with its many picturesque views and photo motifs invites you to linger. The route can be cut short by a ride on the ferry Annerl. At a particularly beautiful viewpoint on the east shore, a memorial plaque bearing the inscription: In memory of His Royal Highness Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria, whose favourite spot was here. The tourist boom in Ramsau, including the founding of the Verschönerungsverein (Beautification Association), today Tourismusverein (Tourism Association), and the construction of paths through the Zauberwald, occurred during his reign. The inconspicuous small chapel on the north shore is dedicated to St. Anthony and contains a particularly valuable ceiling painting from the 17th century and an altarpiece (1785) by F.N. Streicher. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his death, the circular route was dedicated to the Prince Regent on 12.12.2012.
