Built almost 200 years ago as a "pipeline" for the brine from the Berchtesgaden salt mines, the Soleleitungsweg is the most grandiose high-altitude walking trail in the region. The walk begins at the carpark Zipfhäusl and leads to the left onto the Soleleitungsweg via the Schwarzecker Straße. The well-developed path leads across open winter landscapes as well as short stretches of forest without any noticeable ascent. You walk about 400 meters above the valley along the sunny southern slopes of Ramsau to a small carpark above the Kaltbachlehen. After about 300m, keep left and follow the path that leads down into a dip with a small stream. On the other side, walking slightly uphill again, the path continues to the road in the direction of Mordau. With breathtaking views of the mountains of the Nationalpark Berchtesgaden, the rays of the sun warm you even in January. The tour can be extended as desired. Many benches and several inns invite you to take a break and enjoy the hospitality. The path leads back to the starting point on the same route
