Description

From the carpark Toter Mann, you can comfortably walk along a wide sandy path in the direction of Hirscheck, which is a popular hiking destination all year round due to its sunny location. The trail leads through the snowy winter forest until just below the summit, where you keep left at the fork to follow the path towards Hirscheck. If you prefer quiet surroundings, you can alternatively branch off to the right and climb the secondary summit "Toter Mann". Arriving at the Hirscheck, the magnificent view of the imposing mountain world from the Untersberg to the Hoher Göll, the Hagengebirge, the Watzmann and the Hochkalter to the Reiteralm and the Lattengebirge is impressive. During a stop at the Berggasstätte Hirschkaser, you can enjoy the sun's rays and the clear winter air with a warming drink. If you haven't had enough, you can rent a toboggan at the mountain station and whiz down the Hirscheckblitz, the safest natural toboggan run in Germany, back down into the valley. Alternatively, you can take the chairlift or the known path back to the starting point.
