The King Max Trail was planted with a shade-providing beech avenue about 150 years ago in honor of the Bavarian King Max II. In recent years, this has been renewed by the National Association for Conservation in cooperation with the State Forestry Administration. Benches and the magnificent view of the opposite mountains invite you to rest. From H) Hintersee/Zauberwald, or (P) Seeklause, counter-clockwise along the lake to the Old Hinterseer Straße. After about 100m go left, then turn right onto a small forest path that leads up to the Triebenbachstraße and further to the (P) Halsalm. On the tarmacked Old Reichenhaller Straße, take a left for about 200m, then turn right onto the path downward towards the Soleleitungsweg, which you reach at the Leyererhof.
All hiking stages are described as a single route, which can be chosen for the same return route, follow-up tour, or bus use.
