By car:
From Berchtesgaden follow the B305 towards Ramsau, pass through the village and follow the road to lake Hintersee. After passing the lake, drive straight on to the parking area "Klausbachhaus".
On the southern side of the Reiteralm just above lake Hintersee is the Halsalm, it is a traditionally managed alpine pasture, which means that the welfare of the animals is in the priority. In addition, the dairymaid offers small dishes such as homemade cheese sandwiches and fresh milk.
The hike to the Halsalm is part of National Park Berchtesgaden's Eagle Walk. The Klausbach Valley is considered the valley of the eagles, several pairs breed here. With a little luck, you can see the king of the skies, the golden eagle.
