Mountain bistro and historical vantage point: The Kehlsteinhaus, also often referred to as “The Eagle’s Nest”, was built during the national socialism and is accessible via the Kehlsteinstrasse and a mountain-in-built lift. The building, now used as a bistro, offers magnificent views of Berchtesgaden’s mountains and the Salzburg area but also serves as a warning reminder of the abysses of the inhumane dictatorship of the national socialism. It is worth visiting the exhibition on the history of the building which is located in a side wing of the house as well as the 1-hour summit tour.  

The Eagle’s Nest can only be accessed with buses of the RVO, which depart from the Obersalzberg parking area.
