Starting point: Carpark at Hirschbichlstrasse near Hintersee

A few hundred metres after entering the park, you turn right off the Hirschbichlstrasse onto the path towards the Halsalm. 

The forest is not as thick here and you can enjoy wonderful views of the rock face of the Reiteralm.

A zig zag path continues to the Halsalm while continually enjoying the excellent views to Hintersee and the valley of Ramsau. 

There is information along the way about the golden eagle which has his revier here. A pair of binoculars would be of benefit, as you may get to view the eagle in flight. 

The narrow path down weaves through the forest to Hintersee.
