In times past, salt was a highly valuable natural resource. Only the miners ever entered the heart of the mine, but nowadays visitors can pass into this hidden world beneath the ground. 

A small pit train transports you into the vault. After  travelling about 700m you reach a slide (or stairs) which convey you down into the dark caves.

During a guided tour you find out all about the salt mines, their history and contempory use. The highlight for many is the trip on the raft across a brine lake. An experience not to be forgotten!
